About Us
Tulande Online is a Namibian-based Online E-commerce platform on which local and international vendors market and sell their products and services across the world. The word Tulande means “Let Us Buy” in Oshiwambo, a local Namibian language, and just as the name implies, the company aims to encourage online shopping through the platform. The company was founded in 2018 and officially started operating on 8 September 2022 It has since onboarded vendors from various countries such as Namibia, South Africa, and Indonesia.
History of Tulande Online
Tulande Online was founded by Kristofine Ekandjo after completing her undergraduate degree in International Economics and Trade at Beihang University in Beijing China. During her studies she focused on her home country of Namibia, and noticed that 70% of it’s products are imported from abroad. She further analyzed that some of the imported items were being produced within the country however, local vendors either do not have the capacity to mass produce their products and/or they lack the visibility to connect and sell to their target market within Namibia and beyond. This gave her the idea to form a company that will amplify the visibility of domestic and international vendors in order to have them partake in international trade. From that point onwards Kristofine worked on the formation of Tulande Online, and once she returned back to Namibia she registered the company and began preparations for its launch.
While setting up the company she acquired a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Peking University with a keen focus on the development of e-commerce operations in developing countries. Her educational background coupled with her drive to see Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) partake in global trade is the backbone on Tulande Online.
